Playworker – Breakfast & After School Club
We are are recruiting a Playworker to support our Breakfast and After School Clubs in Ottery. This role is ideal for someone seeking consistent, term-time hours and who enjoys working with primary-aged children in a friendly, supportive environment.
About the Role
You will support children before and after the school day, helping to create a safe, engaging, and welcoming space where children can relax, play, and thrive. No two days are the same — one day you might be dressing up and inspiring children’s imaginations, the next leading a messy play activity, or even being the “cat” chasing the “mouse” during an energetic parachute game. It’s a hands-on, playful role where creativity, enthusiasm, and a love of fun really shine.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting children through play-based activities and structured routines
Creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment
Encouraging positive behaviour and social development
Working closely with a supportive staff team
Ensuring safeguarding and welfare standards are always met
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable
Bubbly with a genuine love of working with children
Creative, with ideas to keep children engaged and happy
A strong team player with a positive attitude
Previous childcare experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
